Overall Responsibility:
Our AutoCAD Designers must make clever decisions using independent judgment, but be capable of receiving guidance from supervisors and collaborating with our sales team, suppliers and customers. Depending on experience and background responsibilities include:

Key Tasks:
• Design, layout and detail gates and gate systems including components and parts.
• Produce drawings by studying engineering specifications, blueprints, sketches, take-offs and supporting documents to create pictures and multiple views depicting the relationship of components and parts; identifying dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials.
• Identify and verify specifications by examining engineering documents; performing calculations.
• Review redlines and change orders and modify drawings;
• Coordinate with and consult engineers, customers and suppliers to resolve design or other problems.
• Develop and update bill of materials and parts lists.
• Support sales development and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed in a timely manner.

Skills Requirements:
AutoCAD, CAD, Drafting, Drafting Tools, Requirements Analysis, Design Skills, Conceptual Skills, Presentation Skills, Functional and Technical Skills, Thoroughness, Analyzing Information, Time management skills, Excellent customer service skills, Deadline oriented. Excellent math skills.

Experience/Education Requirements:
• Associates degree or technical trade school in CAD drafting.
• 2-4 years of mechanical drafting experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor as well Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work from engineering and architectural drawings, sketches, blueprints and take-offs.
• Knowledge of building construction, manufacturing techniques and product design.
• Knowledge of drafting protocols and standards/geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• A basic understanding of Bill of Materials and Part Maintenance
