Position Title: Access Control Sales and Tech Support

 

Reports to: Branch Manager

 

Overall Responsibility:  Provide professional sales and technical support and build relationships with access controls customers in a wholesale environment, maintain a working knowledge of products sold, assist customers with job orders, develop customer accounts, facilitate the pulling and delivery of customer orders, and assist in directing the organization of the warehouse.  Also responsible for the accuracy of access controls inventory, and processing of inventory paperwork.

 

Key tasks: 

  • Develop contractor sales and relationships with wholesale customers.
  • Actively pursue new customer accounts.
  • Supervise and maintain branch inventory of access controls products.
  • Perform customer and employee technical support with access control gate automation products.
  • Assist with identification of correct service parts to correct problems.
  • Coordinate RMA’s and warranty claims with purchasing department.
  • Be proactive in developing initiatives for growing our access control business.
  • Operate software system to conduct sales.
  • Assist customers with ideas and suggestions.
  • Perform take offs and quotes for customers.
  • Interpret and develop product specifications into customer orders and quotations.
  • Maintain customer accounts by providing in-depth customer service.
  • Facilitate the ordering process from input to shipping.
  • Meet established sales and revenue goals.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and collections.
  • Facilitate the delivery of product by coordinating shipments via UPS, Fed Ex, and LTL freightliners.
  • Check in and ensure the accuracy of incoming materials.
  • Process paperwork on incoming branch transfers and purchase orders.
  • Investigate and process branch transfer correction forms.
  • Other duties as required by Branch Manager.
  • May require overtime including occasional weekend work.

  • Technical knowledge of the access controls and fence industry.
  • Basic electronics and low voltage technical knowledge.

Experience/Education Requirement: 

  • High School graduate with minimum 2 years college or technical school.
  • 2-3 years of experience in sales, installation and repair of gate automation equipment.
  • 2-3 years experience in customer service.
  • Basic math knowledge.
  • Experience in the fence industry preferred.
